Easy hot milk sponge cake

Easy Hot Milk Sponge Cake is a classic and delightful dessert that combines simplicity with rich, comforting flavors.

Perfect for any occasion, this moist and fluffy cake is made with basic pantry ingredients, making it an approachable recipe even for beginner bakers. The hallmark of this cake is its unique preparation method,

which involves heating milk and butter together before incorporating them into the batter. This step creates a soft, tender crumb and a subtly rich flavor that sets this sponge cake apart from others.

Ingredients :
4 eggs
300ml castor sugar
500ml (2cups) cake flour
15ml baking powder
250 (1cup) milk
100g butter
5ml vanilla essence

Method:

Preheat oven at 180 °c

Beat eggs and sugar together.
Sift flour and baking powder together and fold in egg and sugar mixture.

Heat milk, butter and vanilla essence. Do not boil.
Stir into batter and pour into 2 greaced 20cm cake tins.
I opted to bake in one large square pan.

Bake in preheated oven at 180° for 25 minutes.
Cool and decorate as desire.
